While recording my first tuition classes in an army bunk during National Service, I realized that nothing felt better than helping a student find that “aha!” moment.
I started offering pro-bono tuition to 1,000 underprivileged kids because I believed that a student's bank account should never decide their future.
But I soon faced a tough choice.
I was offered the PSC Open and the SAFOS scholarship — a prestigious path with a guaranteed future. I turned it down because I knew my real commitment was to the students who were still messaging me for help every single day.
That's why I started MACRO.
Together with Jay and Sean, we spent a full year obsessing with turning boring textbooks into lessons for thousands of your seniors.
