We cover the full 9758 H2 Math syllabus. Pure Mathematics includes functions, sequences and series, vectors, complex numbers, and calculus. Statistics covers probability, discrete and continuous distributions, sampling and hypothesis testing, and correlation and regression. Calculus and Statistics each get disproportionately more time because they carry the most marks in Papers 1 and 2 and are where most students drop points. H1 Mathematics (8865) is also available for students who need it.

I can do the tutorial questions fine but I always run out of time in exams. What is going wrong?

Tutorial questions are structured to test one concept at a time. Exam questions are not. The A-Level paper is designed to make you figure out what type of question you are looking at before you can even start solving it. Students who have practised enough to do the working correctly but have not trained that recognition step find themselves spending three minutes on a question that should take thirty seconds to identify. We teach question-type recognition explicitly. Every session includes timed practice where the point is not just getting the right answer but getting there fast enough that you have time left over. That is a different skill from understanding the content and most school teaching never addresses it.

What is the H2 Math distinction rate at MACRO Academy?

Our H2 Math students consistently achieve 70% or higher distinctions at A-Levels. That number holds across the full cohort, including students who joined at B, C, and D grades. We do not take only strong students and we do not filter results. Your starting point matters less than how consistently you show up and whether you are doing the right kind of practice.

Which H2 Math topics are the hardest and carry the most marks?

Integration is the single most important topic in H2 Math. It shows up in almost every Paper 1 and feeds into Statistics questions too. Students who are not fluent with integration techniques lose marks across the whole paper, not just the calculus questions. Statistics accounts for roughly 40% of Paper 2 and is the section most students treat as secondary until it is too late. Hypothesis testing and probability distributions carry the most marks within it. Vectors and complex numbers are the other areas worth investing in early. They look abstract but the exam questions are fairly predictable once you have seen enough of them.

I am already in J2 and my Math results are still not good. Is it too late?

No. We have had students join in J2 before Prelims and still come out with strong A-Level results. The window is shorter than if you had started in J1 but it is not closed. What matters most now is being honest about which specific topics are costing you marks instead of trying to cover everything again from scratch. We start with a short diagnostic to figure that out. Most students are surprised to find that their gaps are narrower than they expected. Fixing two or three specific areas well will move your grade more than a general revision sweep.

Does MACRO Academy cover H2 Further Mathematics?

Yes. Our Math tutors cover H2 Further Mathematics (9649) for students taking it as a contrasting subject. Further Math is taught separately from H2 Math and goes into additional Pure Mathematics territory not in the standard syllabus, including further calculus, linear algebra, and proof. If you are taking both H2 Math and H2 Further Math, we coordinate the pacing so neither subject gets neglected.

Where are H2 Math classes held and how many students are in each session?

Classes run on weekend afternoons and selected weekday evenings at four centres: Upper Thomson, Bukit Timah Plaza, Kovan, and Siglap, plus online. Each session is 2 hours. We cap each class at 10 students. If your preferred slot is full, we find you the next available opening rather than overfilling the session. You pick your location and timing when you enrol and can change if your schedule shifts during the year.
